Is it a good idea to ask AI for generating reports?

Sometimes we just need to gather information and use it in the future, and formatted, detailed reports help. As AI being smarter and can think for longer, using it to generate a report become possible and praticle. However, based on my experience, some AIs tend to “show off” for easy tasks and being lazy for longer tasks. For example, if you ask for a topic like “how do I keep healthy?”, AI will like to list 20 topics and ask you if you need more. Once you try to expand each topic, sometime it starts to “hallucinate” and destroy the structure. The more you try to fix it, the higher chance you will get unusable coding pieces.

Is there a solution? Well frankly, I think by far the easiest way is asking AI to do one long shot, then human can take over. One can receive a OK to good report, instead of random quality outputs.
