CPU and GPU

I read some historical articles written more than ten years ago, and I found it interesting. Intel, the king of CPU (at least at the moment), claimed that people should use CPU and its internal graphic card, rather than GPU. To be more specific, it believes that by strengthen the performance of CPU, people would get rid of GPUs. While we can laugh at it because we already know the history, it also showed that how a company treat users can affect the path of the technology development. I know there are still a lot to discuss, so we can do it later.
