There could be several tiers of AI-Human cooperation in a firm. Some of them are “sexy” and others make more sense.
0. No AI. Many enterprises, especially small retails or traditional manufactures simply don’t trust AIs. They sometimes even ban AI. While it might sound inefficient (and mostly they are), some of them care about the accuracy so they did not deploy that before the technology being mature.
1. AI as a tool. From my experiences, many of companies are in the stage. Chatting, document generation, simple calculation, searching, reporting…etc. Human, being a tools master, is the key in the scenario.
2. AI as a partner. It is a step further. If one deploys an AI partner and try to discuss with it, usually it can increase the efficiency because AI can work 24/7, with no fatigue.
3. AI as a designer. Now it sounds more fancy. As OpenAI claimed, they try to put AI as their CEO. Ignore the marketing part, it could actually be the reality in the near future, and it deserves our thoughtfully consideration and preparations.
